Blanchard/Burdick Lead 2012 A Scow Nationals After Three Races

It was an amazing first day of racing at the 2012 A Scow National Championship in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. PRO Hank Stuart delivered three great races, two in the morning and one in the afternoon with Lake Geneva’s Terry Blanchard and Andy Burdick on Silverhawk taking an early lead, ahead by two points.

Race one was all Lake Geneva. The defending champion duo of Blanchard/Burdick came on strong, right off the line to win the first race of the day. Vincent Porter and John Anderson on Eagle 1 battled it out to finish second. Former National Champion Tom Freytag on MadCap finished third.

Rob Evans on Cosmic Warrior and John Dennis on Lucky from Minnetonka challenged in race two, taking second and first respectively with Freytag and Blanchard/Burdick taking third and fourth.

The last race of the day got underway in the afternoon with Blanchard/Burdick winning the final heat, securing the lead. Freytag captured second and Evans pulled up to finish third.

Racing continues on Saturday.
