National Class A Scow Association Founder, Lou Morgan Passes

On Sunday, February 19 the NCASA received sad news from La Belle. Lou Morgan passed away after complications of emergency surgery on a burst appendix Sunday afternoon. Lou was one of the founders of the National Class A Scow Association. He raced A Scows on Pewaukee from the early 80s through the early 2000s. He touched countless people lives as he was one of those rare, special persons who always was quick to help out, lend advice, and generally make all around him feel a sense of well being. He was one of the pioneers in the class’ development where he was the first to experiment with asymmetrical kites. He also led the revival of the A Fleet on Pewaukee recruiting several La Belle and surrounding lakes to join the fleet resulting ultimately in a 13 boat fleet. Lou invented the famous Pewaukee drink known as the Special. He created and has led the PYC Rib Dinner for over 30 years. He was a past Commodore of the Inland Lake Yachting Association and long time board member. He was a past Admiral of the Bilge Pullers. He was our friend and will be sorely missed.
